چکیده
One of the principle issues concerning practical application steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC) is uncertainty related to its structural behavior, primarily caused by partially random distribution and orientation fibers in SFRC elements. This paper aims provide a better understanding how variance material properties affects flexural behavior beams. First, distributed plasticity finite element model beam proposed validated. Then, probability distributions selected are defined based on existing probabilistic models experimental results from literature. Finally, variance-based sensitivity analysis performed using Sobol’ indices identify uncertainties that contribute most three characteristic points beam’s behavior: first crack, yield, collapse point. Sensitivity surrogating numerical polynomial chaos expansion. The residual tensile strength identified as main contributor an used case study.

Probabilistic Flexural Fatigue in Plain and Fiber-Reinforced Concrete
The objective of this work is two-fold. First, we attempt to fit the experimental data on the flexural fatigue of plain and fiber-reinforced concrete with a probabilistic model (Saucedo, Yu, Medeiros, Zhang and Ruiz, Int. J. Fatigue, 2013, 48, 308-318). This model was validated for compressive fatigue at various loading frequencies, but not for flexural fatigue. Since the model is probabilistic...
متن کاملAnalytical and numerical modeling of erosive projectiles into steel fiber reinforced concrete target
In this paper, modeling of high speed projectiles with different nose shapes, penetrating into steel fiber reinforced concrete is investigated. This is a novel study because it considers the length to diameter ratio of steel fiber as well as projectile length to diameter ratio and volume fraction of fiber used in concrete matrix on the impact resistance of steel fiber reinforced concrete fibers...
متن کاملMechanical Behavior of Steel Fiber-Reinforced Concrete Beams Bonded with External Carbon Fiber Sheets
This study investigates the mechanical behavior of steel fiber-reinforced concrete (SFRC) beams internally reinforced with steel bars and externally bonded with carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) sheets fixed by adhesive and hybrid jointing techniques. In particular, attention is paid to the load resistance and failure modes of composite beams. The steel fibers were used to avoiding the rip...
